Wari-kusabi table

This table inspired by Japanese design was crafted applying time-honored joinery techniques, such as the wedged mortise and tenon joint. The materials employed in this table include mahogany and iroko timber. The design takes inspiration from Torii gates

How its made

This table was fully made with hand tools. Japanese saws were used to cut every beam. Chisels to cut the mortises and make the tenons fit precisely. Even the wedged were cut by hand. The tabletop was finished with a plane and after treated with Rubio Monocoat.
